INTEGRITY-MOÇAMBIQUE, 06 de Outubro de 2022– “A situação de acesso à água, saneamento e à higiene nas nossas escolas continua desafiante. Dados existentes revelam que 69% das escolas do território nacional não têm acesso à água potável, 53% não têm acesso a saneamento básico e 85% não possuem serviços de higiene. Este drama é mais visível nas escolas primárias, particularmente, nas zonas rurais.”
Quem assim o diz é a WaterAid que através de uma nota informativa publicada na sua página oficial do Facebook, nesta quarta-feira (05) entende que devem ser feitos “esforços para o desenvolvimento de um roteiro de intervenções para assegurar uma maior apropriação e responsabilização dos decisores políticos e outros seguimentos da sociedade civil em relação a temática de água, saneamento e higiene nas escolas.”
De acordo com a WaterAid, diante dos dados existentes e preocupados, a WaterAid, o Movimento de Educação Para Todos (MEPT), a Organização Nacional dos Professores de Moçambique (ONP), em parceria com o Ministério de Educação e Desenvolvimento Humano (MINEDH) tem estado a desenvolver uma série de actividades, incluindo evidências, para despertar a consciência dos decisores políticos sobre a gravidade da situação.
