INTEGRITY-MOÇAMBIQUE, 06 de Outubro de 2022– Afinal não foram apenas 14 milhões de Meticais roubados no balcão do Millennium BIM no distrito de Macanga, na província de Tete, mas sim, 23 milhões de Meticais, estando neste momento presas quatro pessoas, entre eles o tesoureiro e gerente bancário. Entretanto, durante a operação a Polícia da República de Moçambique (PRM) em Tete diz ter recuperado apenas 1 milhão de Meticais, do valor total roubado, duas viaturas e diversos electrodomésticos.
Segundo a PRM, o grupo é extenso e parte dele está baseado na cidade de Tete, onde há dias terá protagonizado um outro assalto a 4 metros de um balcão do Millennium BIM, donde furtaram mais de nove milhões de Meticais a um agente económico que pretendia efectuar o depósito.
Sobre o roubo de Macanga, o mesmo ocorreu na semana finda, durante a madrugada, onde os meliantes imobilizaram o guarda segurança e arrombaram o balcão tendo roubado mais de 23 milhões de Meticais. Portanto, as versões divergem enquanto a PRM fala do envolvimento e detenção de um gerente e tesoureiro, fontes do Serviço Nacional de Investigação Criminal (SERNIC) em Tete, revelou a “Integrity” que dos quatro detidos nenhum deles é funcionário bancário e mesmo com o assalto ocorrido, o balcão contínua em funcionar normalmente.
