INTEGRITY-MOÇAMBIQUE, 03 de Outubro de 2022– O Presidente do Conselho Autárquico da Cidade de Maputo (CACM), Éneas Comiche, anunciou, na sexta-feira (30.09), durante uma visita de trabalho, realizada nos distritos municipais de KaMavota e KaMubukuana, que o município que dirige já não vai implementar o projecto BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), cinco meses depois da Agência Metropolitana de Transportes de Maputo (AMTM) ter dito que as obras poderiam iniciar em 2023 e que em 2024 estaria a funcionar em pleno.
Entretanto, Éneas Comiche disse de viva-voz que iriam priorizar a ampliação de estradas urbanas e periféricas, onde iriam criar faixas específicas para os transportes públicos. A causa da desistência, segundo Comiche, é de, nos países pioneiros, o projecto estar em desuso.
Esta decisão da edilidade demonstra o reconhecimento do fracassado projecto que há oito anos foi tão propalado, mas que nunca saiu do papel para a prática, comprovando que tudo não passava de mais uma promessa eleitoralista do partido Frelimo que, na altura do anúncio do projecto, afirmava que o mesmo estava orçado em 100 milhões de USD e que o tráfego na cidade de Maputo iria melhorar, mas tudo não passava de “uma mentira cabeluda” que hoje Éneas Comiche decidiu deixar “cair a fruta podre”.
