INTEGRITY-MOÇAMBIQUE, 03 de Outubro de 2022– O Governo de Moçambique baixou a proporção de receitas fiscais do gás que vai alocar ao fundo soberano que está a preparar, descendo de 50% para 40% nos primeiros quinze anos, noticia a agência de informação financeira Bloomberg.
De acordo com um esboço do diploma legal que ainda não foi aprovado, 40% das receitas fiscais proveniente da exploração de gás no norte de Moçambique serão canalizadas, nos primeiros quinze anos de exploração, para o fundo soberano que o país está a preparar para gerir os quase 100 mil milhões de dólares que deverá receber em receita fiscal.
Depois, a percentagem sobe para 50%, de acordo com a versão preliminar da lei que deverá ser submetida aos deputados até final deste ano, o que representa uma variação face à ideia de 2020, em que o fundo receberia 50% nas primeiras duas décadas, um valor que subiria depois para 80% dos impostos provenientes deste sector.
Moçambique deverá ser um dos maiores exportadores mundiais de gás a partir de 2024, beneficiando não só do aumento dos preços, no seguimento da invasão da Ucrânia pela Rússia, mas também pela transição energética em curso a nível global, que procura afastar-se dos combustíveis fósseis, nomeadamente o petróleo.
