INTEGRITY-MOÇAMBIQUE, 03 de Outubro de 2022-O papa Francisco dirigiu-se hoje ao Presidente da Rússia, Vladimir Putin, para pedir que pare a “espiral de violência e morte” na Ucrânia, expressando a sua preocupação com o risco de uma escalada nuclear.
“O meu apelo é dirigido sobretudo ao Presidente da Federação Russa, implorando-lhe que pare, também por amor ao seu povo, esta espiral de violência e morte”, disse Francisco na celebração do Angelus, na Praça de São Pedro, dirigindo-se pela primeira vez em público a Putin, sem citar o seu nome.
Francisco pediu também ao mundo para recorrer a “instrumentos diplomáticos” para pôr fim a este conflito “grave, devastador e ameaçador”, além de encorajar o presidente ucraniano, Volodymyr Zelensky, a “estar aberto a sérias propostas de paz”. (LUSA)
