A par disso, no dia 17 de dezembro de 2023, um líder comunitário da sede de Namogelia, no distrito de Chiúre, na província de Cabo Delgado, foi espancado até à morte pela população, uma vez que é acusado de distribuir o surto de cólera naquela região da província.
Ainda em Chiúre, há dias uma infraestrutura governamental foi vandalizada por populares que não acreditam que o surto de cólera seja algo natural e causado pelo péssimo saneamento de meio, “o que permite com que a transmissão da cólera ocorra por via fecal – oral, ou seja, pela ingestão de água ou alimentos contaminados, ou pela contaminação pessoa a pessoa.”
Os números infecção e mortes que continuam a ser ocultados pelas autoridades locais, mas conforme “Integrity” apurou de fontes hospitalares, o número de infecções já ultrapassam a fasquia de mil pessoas, tudo porque as pessoas não acreditam nas autoridades sanitárias e nem governamentais por entenderem que estes são os principais responsáveis pelo surto que diariamente vai se expandindo nos distritos acima citados.
De salientar que a par de Chiúre, em Cabo Delgado, recentemente no distrito de Gúruè, na província da Zambézia, um agente da PRM foi assassinado por populares com recurso à uma zagaia, quando se encontrava numa missão de salvação de alguns membros da comunidade que trabalhavam na sensibilização sobre a doença que vem afectando as províncias de Cabo Delgado, Nampula, Zambézia, Sofala e outras. No entanto, sobre a situação de Chiúre, “Integrity” não conseguiu colher qualquer reacção das autoridades de saúde e muito menos governamentais de Cabo Delgado e muito menos do MISAU. (INTEGRITY)
