Num aviso citado pelo jornal notícias, o ISSM aponta como motivos que pesaram para esta medida o facto de a Austral Seguros não dispor das garantias financeiras exigidas às entidades habilitadas ao exercício da actividade seguradora, nos termos da lei, e de não ter actualizado o respectivo capital social, de acordo com o disposto no artigo n.º 3 do Decreto n.º 39/2028, de 5 de Julho.
“A conduta demonstrada pela Companhia de Seguros da África Austral prejudica sobremaneira os interesses dos segurados e terceiros lesados que, em primeiro lugar, devem ser protegidos, além de perturbar as condições normais de funcionamento do mercado de seguros que se pretende eficiente, sólido e credível, mostrando deficiências para a continuidade do exercício da actividade seguradora em Moçambique”, lê-se no documento.
A fonte não esclarece, no entanto, o tratamento a ser dado aos detentores das apólices de seguro desta entidade.
Refira-se que a Austral Seguros foi executada no início deste mês, após uma ordem nesse sentido da Justiça na cidade de Maputo, face ao incumprimento das suas obrigações para com os clientes. (DE)
