INTEGRITY, MAPUTO, DEZEMBRO DE 2023 –Com esta iniciativa, o Governo tem em vista a inclusão digital, o acesso à informação e ao conhecimento, promovendo o desenvolvimento de competências digitais, beneficiando deste modo a população que, por meios próprios, não teria acesso as tecnologias de informação e comunicação. A cerimónia oficial de entrega das bibliotecas decorreu na Vila Autárquica de Mueda.
Na ocasião, Ambrósio Sitói recordou aos presentes o facto de o mundo estar a implementar um processo complexo de digitalização rumo à “Quarta Revolução Industrial”, caracterizada pela automação resultante da convergência dos sistemas tecnológicos e físicos. E Moçambique não está alheio a este movimento.
Nesse sentido, o Ministério dos Transportes e Comunicações definiu a CONECTIVIADE como uma das cinco prioridades do Sector”, em reconhecimento do seu papel na aceleração dos processos produtivos, inclusão da população no acesso aos serviços sociais básicos como ensino e saúde, entre outras vantagens”, afirmou Ambrósio Sitói.
Continuando, explicou que a intervenção do MTC nesta prioridade, tem sido na coordenação de esforços para a prossecução da expansão do acesso à rede e aos serviços de telecomunicações para responder à crescente demanda deste serviço, digitalização dos processos produtivos e dos serviços prestados pela administração pública, ao mesmo tempo que se melhora a promoção da segurança cibernética para proporcionar um ambiente de confiança e segurança dos utilizadores dos serviços de telecomunicações.
Neste sentido, o MTC reconhece os resultados destas intervenções, como a inclusão digital rural, massificação do uso da internet, através da implementação de iniciativas como provisão de internet para as escolas do ensino geral, técnico e universidades públicas, instalação e operacionalização de praças e bibliotecas digitais, como é o caso das bibliotecas digitais de Cabo Delgado entregues hoje.
Tornar esta biblioteca num lugar público
Valige Tuabo, Governador da Província de Cabo Delgado, na sua intervenção, encorajou os governos distrital e municipal para trabalharem na transformação desta biblioteca em um lugar público, com cuidados necessários para garantir a durabilidade do equipamento.
Destacou o facto de a Província de Cabo Delgado, ter várias bibliotecas, mas a da Escola Secundária de Mueda ser a primeira digital a nível da província, fruto da visão do Governo de Moçambique de digitalizar o país, para colmatar as lacunas e défice no acesso ao conteúdo educacional.
As bibliotecas digitais representam um passo importante para a inclusão digital no País, em especial para o Distrito de Mueda, assim como para a Cidade de Pemba, uma vez que reduzem o fosso de acesso a estas tecnologias.
Sendo a digitalização do País uma prioridade na agenda do Governo e, porque o INCM é parceiro, assumimos o compromisso de responder a este desafio com algumas iniciativas. As bibliotecas digitais constituem uma dessas iniciativas, afirmou Tuaha Mote, Presidente do Conselho de Administração do INCM.
Através da “Iniciativa das Bibliotecas Digitais”, que está a ser implementada pelo Governo de Moçambique, através do INCM, são disponibilizados computadores com mecanismos de conexão à internet e às plataformas digitais de acesso livre a acervos bibliográficos, via Internet.
O INCM pretende continuar a expandir esta iniciativa, de modo a contemplar as quatro províncias remanescentes – Niassa, Manica, Gaza e Inhambane – perfazendo um total de 20 bibliotecas digitais, levando, deste modo, conhecimento e cultura a população local. INTEGRITY
