A Renamo disse ainda que as perseguições e detenções dos seus membros e simpatizantes tem se intensificado, e no dia da votação, 10 de Dezembro, não foi diferente pois “na autarquia de Marromeu a PRM maltratou e prendeu sem culpa formada vários delegados de candidatura da Renamo, desviou urnas para impedir a transparência eleitoral e a produção de actas e editais”.
A actuação da polícia voltou a ser questionada pelo partido de Ossufo Momade, que acusa de em vários momentos recorrem a balas verdadeiras para intimidar cidadãos que se juntam às manifestações do partido, que visam contestar os resultados.
“No dia 12 de Dezembro, a Polícia voltou a demonstrar o seu carácter assassino ao disparar gás lacrimogêneo e balas verdadeiras contra civis indefesos que marchavam pacificamente, o que causou ferimentos graves e morte de um concidadão”. (O País)
