O Apoio é parte de um acordo firmado entre o Moza e a Associação Um Pequeno Gesto (UPG), à luz do qual o Banco canaliza ajuda financeira em prol das crianças desde 2019. Esta parceria foi recentemente renovada entre ambas instituições, numa cerimónia que teve lugar, em Maputo, na qual também se fez a apresentação dos resultados obtidos com a intervenção da UPG na comunidade de Manjangue, desde há quatro anos.
Durante a entrega do donativo, Ivan Simango, Representante do Moza na cerimónia, sublinhou que a solidariedade e o espírito de doação em benefício do outro é uma característica intrinsecamente ligada ao DNA dos colaboradores do Banco, dai terem optado por realizar o Natal solidário, junto das crianças vulneráveis de Manjangue.
“Nesta época festiva, em que se exalta a união e solidariedade entre as pessoas e famílias, juntamo-nos uma vez mais a Associação UPG, nosso parceiro na implementação de um projecto no sector da educação aqui em Gaza, para proporcionar a estas crianças um dia de festa e diversão. Adicionalmente, fizemos a oferta de material escolar diverso, o qual esperamos que venha a facilitar o processo de ensino e aprendizagem resultando num cada vez melhor desempenho escolar destas mesmas crianças”, asseverou Simango, reforçando que um dos grandes propósitos desta acção incide sobre a redução dos índices de abandono escolar precoce.
Em nome dos beneficiários, a Representante da Associação UPG, Elisa Balate, enfatizou a acção do Moza, revelando a seguir que, com esse tipo de ajuda, as crianças da comunidade recebem incentivos distintos para que se mantenham na escola, destacando o apoio em material escolar, uniforme e até uma cesta básica que também é partilhada com as suas respectivas famílias.
“Para além de depender do apoio que recebemos dos nossos parceiros, nós próprios e com a ajuda da comunidade e das próprias crianças conseguimos produzir aqui aquilo que achamos que não precisamos comprar. Falo principalmente de hortícolas, nomeadamente couve, cebola, cenoura, beterrabas e etc. Assim, conseguimos ter comida e satisfazer algumas das nossas necessidades”, frisou a Representante da Associação UPG.
Elisa Balate acrescentou ainda que a associação apoia as crianças mais adultas e que tenham concluído a 12ª classe, garantindo que estas continuam com os seus estudos, através da atribuição de bolsas, sobretudo para os alunos mais academicamente destacados.
A visita à Escola Primária da Santa Luísa de Marilac – Manjangue, contou também com a presença do embaixador do Moza, Stewart Sukuma, que tornou ainda mais animado o convívio com as crianças, num ambiente de muita música e diversão à mistura.
Com mais esta acção, o Moza Banco reafirma o seu compromisso de continuar a realizar investimentos sociais em sectores que contribuam para o progresso socioeconómico das comunidades e do país, no geral.
