“Nota-se que atualmente a taxa de analfabetismo entre as mulheres é de 49,4% e 27,2% nos homens, é preciso refletirmos porque é que isso está a acontecer”, disse Filipe Nyusi, durante a abertura da conferência nacional da educação, que decorre em Maputo, precisando que uma taxa de analfabetismo global no país é de 39%.
Segundo o chefe de Estado moçambicano, as províncias de Niassa, Cabo Delgado e Nampula, no norte do país, e as províncias de Tete e Zambézia, no centro de Moçambique, são as que apresentam os maiores índices de analfabetismo.
Nyusi sugere que os governantes das províncias mencionadas identifiquem e corrijam as deficiências na educação que estejam a contribuir para as baixas taxas de alfabetização.
