O Banco de Moçambique parece ter aberto uma cruzada contra o BCI, que é detido em 61,51% pelo grupo Caixa Geral de Depósitos e em 35,67% pelo banco BPI.
Depois de no dia 27 de abril o Banco de Moçambique ter indicado um “inspetor residente” para o banco, não tendo avançado o motivo, eis que na semana passada a Caixa Geral de Depósitos recebeu do banco central local a informação de que não iria aprovar o nome de Carlos Albuquerque, então Presidente do Conselho de Administração do BCI, para CEO num novo mandato.
A CGD, em aliança com o BPI, tinham proposto ao Banco de Moçambique o nome de Carlos Albuquerque, que passaria assim de ‘chairman’ para presidente da comissão executiva da instituição moçambicana. Mas o nome do ex-administrador executivo da CGD – que foi também Diretor do Departamento de Supervisão Prudencial do Banco de Portugal, de novembro de 2014 a janeiro de 2017, e na mesma altura “alternante do membro português do Supervisory Board do Mecanismo Único de Supervisão do Banco Central Europeu” – não foi aprovado pelo Banco de Moçambique.
