A Polícia Judiciária fez parte da operação “Mourente”, que começou há mais de um ano, e juntou as polícias de Portugal, Espanha e Colômbia.
Através de um comunicado, a PJ confirmou o esquema usado por um grupo de espanhóis que contratou uma empresa portuguesa para importar uma máquina trituradora de pedra da Colômbia, que afinal continha pasta de coca.
A máquina chegou à Europa por Portugal e seguiu para Espanha, para um armazém em Pontevedra, onde seria desmontada e extraída a pasta, que depois seria transformada em cocaína.
Ao todo, as autoridades apreenderam cerca de 1.300 quilos de pasta de coca e mais de 150 quilos de cloridrato de cocaína. Foram ainda apreendidos precursores, vários veículos e quatro toneladas de produtos químicos.
Durante as buscas, que decorreram em várias regiões de Espanha e ilhas, foram também arrestados vários imóveis e “produtos financeiros de elevado valor”.
Todos os 18 detidos – colombianos, mexicanos e espanhóis – já foram ouvidos em tribunal e vão aguardar julgamento em prisão preventiva. (SIC)
