A China, foi o país que financiou a 100% a construção do magnífico e esperado Aeroporto. Aquele país asiático com fortes interesses económicos em Moçambique, que está na indústria extractiva nacional com destaque para a exploração das areias pesadas de Chibuto.
Foram mobilizados mais de 60 milhões de dólares americanos, um sonho realizado, a terra de Ngungunhane, Machel, Mondlane e Chissano passou a contar com um Aeroporto. Entretanto, hoje passam dois anos, mas, a sustentabilidade económica do monstro aí se questiona. Valeu a pena a pressão para a implantação da infra-estrutura em Gaza?
Na última quinta-feira (06.04), o Secretário de Estado na província de Gaza, Lourenço Mateus Lindonde, visitou o empreendimento e constatou com desagrado, o seu não funcionamento pleno apesar da sua magnificência e condições com padrões internacionalmente aceites para este tipo de infraestruturas.
Constatou-se no terreno que o único operador do restaurante e bar também já abandonou o local por falta de clientes, não efectuou inclusive os pagamentos do arrendamento alegando não ter rendido nada durante o período que esteve a operar.
O SE de Gaza deixou recomendações para que a entidade gestora do Aeroporto encontre caminhos seguros para garantir a ocupação do restaurante e das lojas, pois só assim se pode dinamizar a economia local e não só.
Na ocasião, o Administrador do distrito de Chongoene, Artur Macamo, garantiu que existem empresários interessados em explorar o restaurante e bar. “Estamos em fase de conversações e boas expectativas para a sustentabilidade do Aeroporto Filipe Jacinto Nyusi”, garantiu Macamo.
Agora é só esperar que as autoridades “mexam os pauzinhos”, não apenas para o funcionamento do restaurante, bem como para a conquista do mercado internacional para que a infra-estrutura que está a caminho de se transformar num “elefante branco”, comece a operar conforme os objectivos previamente traçados. Actualmente, o Aeroporto serve apenas como um ponto de atracção turística. Alguns noivos também escalam o local para algumas fotografias.
Os funcionários que aqui trabalham, os da migração, da polícia de protecção, passam o tempo apenas a cumprir a escala, usufruindo dos bons serviços de internet, para se entreterem nas plataformas digitais como whatsapp, facebook, etc, ou seja, “queimar o tempo” até o ‘dia D’, “o dia do querido e amado salário”.
