Filipe Nyusi reconhece que são direitos dos moçambicanos a manifestação e a liberdade de expressão, mas lembra que é papel da PRM garantir a ordem e segurança pública. E porque havia informações de que existiam pessoas que se queriam aproveitar da situação para cumprir “agendas concorrentes” e criar desordem, a Polícia foi obrigada a agir, o que culminou com o uso desproporcional da força.
Para o Chefe de Estado, os actos de violência “desproporcional” verificados no último dia 18 do mês em curso colocaram à prova o limite entre os direitos dos cidadãos e a actuação da PRM.
Como solução, o Presidente exige que a PRM evite confrontos com a população e pede vigilância por parte da população perante actos que podem “atrasar o desenvolvimento do país”.
Os pronunciamentos foram feitos durante a XVIII Cerimónia de Graduação em Ciências Policiais, na ACIPOL.
O acto marcou o encerramento dos Cursos de Licenciatura e de Mestrado Académico e Profissional em Ciências Policiais. (Texto Jornal O País)
