Outra razão para a interrupção da venda do produto no mercado internacional, prende se com a dificuldade de escoamento por via ferroviária para o porto de Maputo, devido ao funcionamento da linha do Limpopo, de forma condicionada.
São dados avançados pela responsável dos Assuntos Corporativos na Açucareira de Xinavane, Sónia Matsinhe, que explicou que a suspensão da exportação de açúcar tem em vista, por outro lado, garantir a disponibilidade no mercado nacional.
Devido as inundações, a Açucareira de Xinavane perdeu cerca de dois mil hectares de cana sacarina, parte da qual pertencente aos pequenos agricultores. (RM)
